Windswept Acre's News 2015
- January 2015
- INTL\AKC CH Plaza's Windswept Little Red Corvette JH BN CGC aka
"Corey" started his 2015 show season with a bang at the Tallmadge
Cluster January 3-4. He went BOS for 2 pts. towards his Grand
Championship January 3rd followed by BOB win on Sunday for a 4 pt.
major. Corey now has 21 points including 2 majors towards his Grand
Championship.
- Windswept Acre's A C Little Man Tate aka "Foster" started Obedience
Training while waiting to mature to the show ring.
- INTL\UKC\ AKC GCH Plaza's Windswept One And Only JH BN CGC aka
"Tate" turned 5 this month and will be shown on a limited basis this year
while we decide what other venues we decide to pursue.
- February 2015
- INTL\AKC CH Plaza's Windswept Little Red Corvette JH BN CGC aka
"Corey" goes Select Dog at the Indianapolis Cluster on February 6th for 2
pts. He now needs a major to complete his Grand Championship.
- March 2015
- Waiting for winter to be over. The dogs and I are done with cabin fever.
- April 2015
- Corey goes Select Dog at Columbus Ohio shows for 1 pt, still after that
elusive 3rd Major win!
- Tate goes BOB over a Top Ten ranked Vizsla under Judge Dr. Ronald
Spritzer at the Ft. St. Clair show in Eaton,Ohio. Thank you!
- Vizsla Club of America National Show 4/29-5/2/2015. Corey and Tate both
showed in BOB under breeder judge Dr. Richard Hilderman. Tate showed
in the 1st group of 92 male specials and made "the cut" (see his page!).
He went back in later that day making the 2nd cut but was excused on the
3rd cut. Tate showed beautifully and I couldn't have been prouder of him.
We appreciated all the support that our friends gave us. Corey was in the
6th group to show and while he did a great job he was excused. We had a
fantastic time at Nationals hanging out with friends and watching all the
great dogs.
- May 2015
- While Corey was entered in a show over Memorial Day weekend we did
not attend since it did not offer a major win towards his GCH.
- June 2015
- Corey goes Select Dog at Miami Valeey Vizsla Club supported entry in
Troy Ohio on 6/14/2015 for a 4 pt. Major finishing his GCH!! (picture
coming). Judge Peter Gaeta said while handing me the ribbon that Corey
was a very, very nice dog. His decision between the BOB and Select Dog
was very close ,on any given day the BOB could have been us. Thank
you Judge Gaeta for the compliments. I'm so proud of Corey and happy
we completed this title. Corey will be returning to field work this fall to
compete for his SH title.
- Look for some exciting news coming from Windswept Acre's later this
summer.
- July 2015
- We've had some big changes going on Windswept Acre's and have added
a new arrival. Over 22 years of only having male Vizslas, we have a girl
residing at Windswept Acre's. Say hello to Derby's New Girl In Town At
Windswept Acre's aka "Brinkley." See her web page for more information.
Thank you Sarah Barr, her breeder, we love this girl.
- August 2015
- Foster will be going to live with my friends, Nancy and Ray in Northern
Ohio. They also own Ezsti who is a Gauge daughter. Nancy enjoys
showing in agility and obedience so Foster will have plenty to keep him
busy. This is a great opportunity for everyone especially for Foster.
Thank you Nancy and Ray.
- September 2015
- Its been pretty quiet here at Windswept Acres since Tate is retired from
routine showing and Corey is also taking a break.
- Brinkley has been to 2 to puppy matches and continues to improve her
showing skills. She's such a lovely girl.
- Minor knee surgery for me later this month with recovery into October.
- Foster is doing well in his new home bringing joy to his new "parents" and
companionship to Eszti (Gauge daughter.)
- October 2015
- Well after recuperating from surgery, Brinkley and I went to a puppy
match. She showed like a champ and made Derby and Windswept Acre's
proud. Shame the judge didn't see this also. We are considering possible
show debut in December.
- We had very sad news this month. My dear friends who adopted Foster
lost Eszti (CH Lada's Windswept Dream Star NA NAJ CGC OA), a Gauge
daughter. She was lost suddely after a brief illness. My sympathy to
Nancy, Ray and Foster. Another great dog who crossed over the Rainbow
Bridge way too soon.
- November 2015
- No big plans for this month. Brinkley will continue in her obedience class
and we'll all enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Hope to visit all our friends
showing at the Columbus Ohio Cluster this month.
- Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!
- December 2015
- Brinkley (Derby's New Girl In Town At Windswept Acre's) turned 6 months
old and competed in her 1st dog show December 3-6 at the I-X Center in
Cleveland, Ohio. She showed like a seasoned professional and made me
proud. We even got to see her sister Scout and compete with her.
Brinkley made many new friends and enjoyed her first hotel experience.
- The holidays were fun and enjoyably spent with family and friends. I sent
out a "family" picture with our cards.
